L is for Lovers Alley
This photograph from about the 1920s shows a place somewhere in the Kingston area, but exactly where, I'm not sure.

Nice post, Gerald. I like the green tint and the perspective.
ReplyDeleteIt suits the name - and also shows that some principles for pictures never change.
ReplyDeleteL is for a lovely photograph. have you thought of putting these photos together in book form of Old Hyde
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful romantic looking place.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a good place to walk hand in hand.
ReplyDeleteHi Gerald I think I know where this is. As a child we often walked down this path between Manchester Road Hyde and Dukinfield Road. It has changed a bit since the bypass, but I am sure I could find it again.
ReplyDeleteLinda Mercer
the lovers lane is at the bottom of broomstare going to hyde its a path that is on the right of the river tame. the path near the two people that goes upwards to the right leads to the hyde canal if you turn left at the canal you get to dunkirk lane. and if you go right it leads you to hyde past throstle bank mill.
ReplyDeleteThanks anon - I know just where you mean now.
