Waiting at the Travellers Call
The Travellers Call was a public house on Joel Lane just above Slateacre.
Who they are and what all these people were waiting here for some 100 years ago, I cannot say.
Neither do I know when the pub was converted to a private residence.
Waiting is the CDPB theme for today; click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

What a great shot! All those blokes with their hats - and that guy with the pipe - excellent!
ReplyDeleteI love old photographs of people like this, Gerald. I gather from your text that today that same building is a private residence. Do you have any photographs of it?
ReplyDeleteIt would appear that all of these people (overwhelmingly male) are well of and middle class.
Good Theme Day post.
very interesting vintage post. it does make you wonder what life was like in a different era and what people waited for in day to day living. well done
ReplyDeleteBeautiful old photograph and illustrating so well today's theme.
