Two Trams and a Bus

I'm guessing that this dates from the late 20s or early 30s.

  1. Love the old trams. It's good to take a look at the past every once in awhile to see how far we've come. (Not sure that it's always for the better though.)

  3. The site is in front of Hyde Town Hall. This was the terminus of the Manchester and Stockport routes, the tram on the left is a Manchester Corporation one whilst the other is one of Stockport's.
The building with the "Billiards" sign is now a health & fitness gym accessed from the Arcade.

  5. What a wonderful shot.
Would it have been a ha'penny below and tuppence on top ?
Perhaps a farthing each section and fourpence a weekly ticket.

In Adelaide we had signs saying, "Gentlemen shall not expectorate from this car" !! They were probably from the days when tobacco was chewed !

  7. I can just about remember trams Tom, can you.

I did well to recognise the billiard hall as the arcade too.

Sorry about having to keep captchas on my blogs but I took them off and got inundated with spam - I appreciate your efforts to comment despite the hurdle.
